About
The Adams County Office for Aging, Inc. (ACOFA) was incorporated in the fall of 1976 as a 501(c)(3) private, non-profit agency and is one of 52 Area Agencies on Aging in Pennsylvania. These agencies were established by the federal Older Americans Act and are mandated to provide services to adults age 60 and over.
Guided by its Board of Directors and Citizen’s Advisory Council, ACOFA coordinates a range of services that help older Adams County residents live as independently as possible. Some services are provided directly by ACOFA, while others are funded through our agency and provided by other organizations. Special consideration is given to those with the greatest social, economic, and/or medical needs.
Funding for services comes from the Older Americans Act and the Pennsylvania Lottery through the PA Department of Aging. Our agency is also fortunate enough to receive donations and occasional grants from local entities and private individuals.
A small but dedicated staff of full-time and part-time professionals work hard to provide friendly and meaningful assistance to our consumers and their families.
