Meet the Community Services Director
Samuel “Sam” Jarvis comes to the Adams County Office for Aging with nearly 10 years of experience in long-term care, specifically working with those living with Alzheimer’s disease or another related dementia and within the activities department. In his role as Community Services Director, Sam provides oversight and support to the five Senior Centers throughout Adams County. Sam holds a bachelor’s degree in human services from York College of Pennsylvania, a license as a Personal Care Home Administrator, is a Certified Activities Director, and a Certified Dementia Practitioner. In addition to his work, Sam sits on the board of directors at Main Street Hanover, is a member of the Community Advisory Council for Dementia Friendly Pennsylvania, and a member of the Community Action Team for Dementia Friendly York/Adams Counties. Sam is currently pursuing a master’s degree in social work from Pennsylvania Western University.
